Boise has a plethora of options when it comes to spending the day bonding with your pooch. There are activities that will appeal to all sorts of lifestyles, so take advantage of what Boise has to offer. Here are just a few ideas for your next adventure with your four-legged friend.
Take a stroll through Hyde Park / North End
Stroll through the streets and observe Boise’s historic North End. Make your way over to Camel’s Back park where you’ll find trails to explore in the foothills and plenty of grass for your dog to roll around in or chase after a ball. There's almost always an opportunity to meet new people and maybe a new friend for the dog, as there is an abundance of dog lovers in the North End.
Dry Creek Trail
Roughly 4 miles up Bogus Basin Road on the right side is a pullover that is often filled with cars. This parking lot leads to a trail that is checking out. This fun and winding trail crosses Dry Creek no less than ten times, as you make your way up and up into the tree-line. With stream access for your dog to drink from and located in a little valley, this makes a wonderful hike with great views.
Morris Hill Dog Park
Located at 10 N Roosevelt St just off Americana, this 1-acre dog park is a wonderful place to socialize your dog. The dog park is fenced with mulch ground and a picnic shelter for the humans — usually outnumbered by dogs. No matter what* your schedule is, you will most likely end up going at the same time as other park goers and your dog is sure to make a great friend.
There are no doubt countless other spots to enjoy, including the main Ridge 2 Rivers trail system, the Greenbelt, and of course the numerous off-leash areas in parks throughout Boise. Hopefully this list will get you started!
