For this year’s Keller Williams Realty Boise RED Day project, our volunteers spent the day at Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter Home helping transform outdoor spaces for the families and children who spend time there. The work included a colorful activity court, a kid-sized Main Street, play-area features, mural work, refreshed outdoor items, and new play equipment.
It had a lot of moving parts: paint, signage, pavers, play equipment, mural work, photography, transportation, assembly, and all the behind-the-scenes problem solving that turns an idea into a finished space. It would not have come together without the generosity, time, talent, and support of so many local vendors and community partners.
A huge thank you to B’s Ace Hardware, including Dave Dissinger and Kirk Farris, for going above and beyond to support the painting portion of the project. B’s Ace donated the asphalt paint that brought the activity court and Main Street to life, along with much of the supplies our volunteers used throughout the day, including brushes, rollers, cloths, kneepads, roller extenders, and other essential painting materials. With multiple painting crews working at once, those supplies made a huge difference and helped keep the project moving smoothly from start to finish.
Thank you to Real Signs for discounting a custom sign, and to Grainger, with help from Jennifer Reyes, for donating signage stands for Main Street. Thank you also to ACHD for providing signs for Main Street.
Thank you to the Lifetime Store for donating a wiggle car, providing complimentary assembly, and offering discounts on the items purchased for the project.
Thank you to Rocky Mountain Supply for donating 30 pavers, and to Pauley Construction LLC for donating the spool table.
Thank you to RTS Construction, and Greg Grant, for helping with transportation of project items and donating the tires. That kind of practical, hands-on support made a big difference.
We are also grateful to mural artists Bobby Gaytan and Jay Smith, who reduced their fees and donated paint to help create the beautiful mural that now anchors the outdoor space.
And thank you to Becky Vanshur with Mountain Dawn Photography for capturing the day so beautifully.
Projects like this are a reminder that community work is rarely done by one person or one organization. It takes many people saying yes in different ways. Some donated materials, some offered discounts, some shared their time and talent, and some helped preserve the story of the day.
To every vendor and partner who helped with this project: thank you. Your generosity helped create a brighter, more welcoming space for the families and children at Interfaith Sanctuary Shelter Home.
